Until I had the opportunity to work with IBM, I couldn’t for the life of me told you what it was that they actually did. In my mind they were like the Radio Shack of personal computing, a once mighty brand supplanted by fresher, more nimble companies. After working with them, I came to understand that while IBM maybe didn’t manufacture the flashiest new Nicknacks and Paddywacks, they instead built the background that most of modern business runs on and they provide tailor-made IT solutions for businesses all over the globe. They also place a premium on their employees and recognize that that’s where most innovation comes from.
